Floor soundproofing

We offer a wide range of soundproofing solutions for floors to meet every client's needs.

Our floor systems help with noise transfer to rooms below and reduce echo and will give you between 21 and 52 decibel improvement.

All our systems can be upgraded to reduce your noise problem further. This can be done by incorporating different systems together or by upgrading the plasterboard with acoustic panels and membranes. All systems can be tailor made to fit your needs and circumstances.

We will always offer a free no obligation consultation either via an onsite visit or telephone conversation to help you understand the best solution for your needs.

Acoustic mineral wool and membrane

This system involves removing the existing floorboards.

  1. Friction fit dense 100mm acoustic mineral wool in between existing floor joists.

  2. Install a high density acoustic membrane over the joists and replace the floorboards.

  • Airborne performance:  +/- 15db
  • Impact performance:  +/- 6db
  • Gain in height:  +/- 35mm

Underfloor batten system with membrane

This system involves removing the existing floorboards.

  1. Friction fit dense 100mm acoustic mineral wool in between existing floor joists.

  2. Install timber batten for the plasterboard to sit on.

  3. Install 19mm sound plank onto the batten and seal with acoustic mastic.

  4. Lay the high density acoustic mastic over the plasterboard.

  5. Replace the floorboards.

  • Airborne performance:  +/- 20db
  • Impact performance:  +/- 6db
  • Gain in height:  +/- 35mm

Underfloor batten system with overfloor Triple barrier mats

This system involves removing the existing floorboards.

  1. Friction fit dense 100mm acoustic mineral wool in between existing floor joists.

  2. Install timber batten for the plasterboard to sit on.

  3. Install 19mm sound plank onto the batten and seal with acoustic mastic.

  4. Lay the high density acoustic mastic over the plasterboard.

  5. Replace the floorboards.

  6. Seal the floorboards with acoustic mastic.

  7. Install 15mm triple barrier impact mats.

  • Airborne performance:  +/- 22db
  • Impact performance:  +/- 22db
  • Gain in height:  +/- 18mm

Acoustic Mineral Wool and 35mm Tri-Deck

(This system is aimed at reducing impact noise)

  1. This system involves removing the existing floorboards.

  2. Friction fit dense 100mm acoustic mineral wool in between existing floor joists.

  3. Installing a 22mm tongue and groove floating floor incorporated with an underlay and acoustic membrane.

  • Airborne performance:  +/- 14db
  • Impact performance:  +/- 16db
  • Gain in height: +/- 35mm

Acoustic mineral, 22mm Tri-deck and triple barrier mats

(Great performance in both impact and airborne noise)

  1. This system involves removing the existing floorboards.

  2. Friction fit dense 100mm acoustic mineral wool in between existing floor joists.

  3. Installing a 22mm tongue and groove floating floor incorporated with an underlay and acoustic membrane.

  • Airborne performance:  +/- 22db
  • Impact performance:  +/- 30db
  • Gain in height:  +/- 20mm

Underfloor Hanger System

(For when original floorboard are kept creating a floating floor)

  1. This system involves removing the existing floorboards.

  2. Friction fit dense 100mm acoustic mineral wool in between existing floor joists.

  3. A noise absorbing hanger is fitted over the joists.

  4. 19mm sound plank is installed onto the hanger wings and sealed with acoustic mastic.

  5. The original floorboards are replaced and screwed to the hanger wings.

  • Airborne performance:  +/- 15db
  • Impact performance:  +/- 15db
  • Gain in height:  +/- 10mm
